Veeam just announced Veeam Availability Orchestrator v3 this month, now we will go through some of the new features in VAO v3.
Architecture overview: orchestration of storage and VM failover
NetApp ONTAP Integration
Veeam Availability Orchestrator v3 introduces all-new Storage Orchestration plans. These plans can fully automate the recovery of your VMware virtual machines on ONTAP storage. Now just a 1-click NetApp site recovery and DR testing. When you enable the Storage Orchestration plans, you don’t need to have an existing Veeam Backup & Replication environment to take advantage of VAO.
Fully-automated Veeam DataLab Testing
Verifies the health and operation of each VM, service and application before powering on the next one
in the correct sequential startup. A Veeam DataLab test has the ability to ensure that all of a plan’s steps complete successfully in the event of a disaster, without any impact to your production environment.
Actionable Documentation And Reporting
Four types of fully-customizable documentation, automatically and regularly updated upon change to the environment, test or failover/failback.
DR Pack
DR Pack is a new pricing option for VAO – Number of VAO licenses have to match the number of new or existing VBR/VAS licenses. Learn more about DR Pack here.
